We love our puppies!

We have completed our first week at home successfully, except mom doesn't have much time for blogging. The computer used to be attached to me all day - now the only thing on my hip is Chase. But it is great!!! He was definitely worth the wait. Today we are going to Grants Farm with The Crawfords so we will post pics later today of this adventure.

Embassy Day!!!

We were up bright and early this morning for our embassy appointment. We arrived around 6:30am and waited in a long line to enter the US Embassy. After we entered we sat and waited for our name to be called for the 1st interview. Here they went over some paperwork, then we waited again for the final call. You can imagine a small room full of crying babies, Guatemalans trying to get visas to come to the states. Chase was very restless and kept Erich very busy roaming around. Finally around noon Reis was called to window 8. We had to swear that all the documents were truthful and a few other questions were asked. Then the lady said congratulations he is your son. What a moment - Erich and I high fived and it was done. Wednesday we go at 3:30pm and pick up his visa. Then Thursday bright and early we come home. We can not wait for all you guys to meet this little guy. He is the one in the group that everyone says whos kid is that. Yep thats the Reis´.... He is a wild man. See everyone soon and here are a few more pics of this healthy boy. You can tell from the first picture that the embassy wore him out.

Hanging at the pool

Jumping on the bed

Walking around in the Lobby

Someone is getting very sleepy

Clap Clap Clap Clap your hands

First thing Wednesday morning we are moving kinda slow

Okay thats it from Guatemala.... We will see everyone in St.Louis tomorrow... Stay tuned for video footage when we get home. Pictures dont do him justice.
Love all!!!!!

We made it!!!

Hello everyone from Guatemala... Sorry I have not been able to post but the business center has been closed so I have to fit our first three days into one posting.

Day 1: We arrived alitle late so the attorney was waiting for us in the lobby as soon as we got to the hotel. It was a bittersweet moment - for once it was not us that was upset but we felt for the fostermom who loves Chase so very much. After they parted ways we were off to start the rest of our lives. Well atleast as much as Guatemala and this resort is reality. He was an angel - we played at the pool, practiced our walking and just hung out.

Day 2: Friday night was not bad at all however he prefers sleeping in a king bed than the crib. We will work on that at home. Saturday was much of the same and still just as sweet as pie. We can not wait for you to meet him.

Day 3: We traveled on Sunday to Antigua. This is their Independence Day celebration so there was alot of festivities. Chase slept the entire time so I wont bore you of the pictures of just me and Erich.

Day 4: We are getting ready to go to the pool so I will get right to downloading the pics. I know what everyone has been waiting for.

We're leaving on a jet plane.....

Well here it is 8 hours before our plane takes off and I'm on the computer. I am stalking Continental's website because our layover is in Houston (yes that's right Hurrican Ike.) This is just another hurdle that we will jump right over. We leave Houston at 9:30AM and they are closing the airport at noon. So they think we'll make it. But only time will tell. In 15 hours we will have Chase forever..... Please pray for a safe trip and I will hopefully be posting through the week. If not - I can't wait to see those who will be at our homecoming on Thursday. Thank you for all your support from everyone in all our states: Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Florida, California, and I know many more who have followed along on this journey with us. The labor pains are almost over and the baby is coming home!!!!

PINK! PINK! PINK!

I can not tell you how long I have waited to be able to write those words. WE ARE PINK!!! Our embassy appointment is Tuesday, September 16th; we are leaving bright and early on Friday. Finally - Chase is coming home. It is so surreal and probably won't seem real until we are on the plane next Thursday with him. Thanks for all your support, prayers, and the labor pains you experienced with us. It's a good thing the pink slip came today; because I almost ran out of pink shirts.

Love,
Cory and Erich

We're waiting for PINK!

It's a good thing I have alot of pink clothes.... The positive DNA results arrived at the US Embassy Thursday at 3:58pm. We are just days away from picking up Chase. What a journey - but it is almost over. We are hopefully traveling Friday 9/12 for a 9/15 appointment date.

anxious parents

PS
I hope it all fits. For once I might have to sacrifice shoes for baby clothes. This might take some getting use to.
