Still nothing to report.....

We are still waiting.... The most current news is that Guatemala is performing interviews with the birth mothers. Apparently, there had been bribery taking place under the old leadership. So now the new President wants to hold all of us up while he does a thorough investigation trying to catch these crooked attornies. We are the ones being punished; they have their babies home and we are stuck with the mess. We are just hoping now that the birth mother doesn't see Chase and decide to keep him. Please continue to pray for us, we need it. He turns ONE on the 30th of May!!! We thought for sure he would be home to celebrate with us.

I wish I had something exciting to report....

Nothing new to report - except our last medical update. Yep, he gained more weight. The chunky monkey is up to 27 pounds and is being sent to a dietician at age 10 months. Yikes! Erich can't wait to get him home and hit the trails running. I think he believes he's going to run before he crawls. We'll just let him keep thinking that. Anywho - hopefully we will be out of PGN this week and then it should be around 4-6 weeks after that. So keep on praying - he will be home really soon. It can't be as long as it has been!

Love
Cory

Finally back in PGN....

We received our Central Authority registration one week ago today. Everyone at CA and the attornies in Guatemala worked all weekend to get us registered by the deadline of February 12th. Then Maria was rushing around getting everyone back into PGN hopefully for the final time. We made it back in yesterday 2/18. Now once again we wait.... So let's sit back and hope for a speedy run through PGN! :)

Guatemala 2008

2nd Visit with Chase in Guatemala

What an adventure.... it was definitely a different experience than last time. Chase is very attached to his new foster mom (we think she never puts him down.) The first day he would only allow me to hold him - which was sad because Erich couldn't wait to meet and hold his son. However, as you can see from the photos it just took him about a day and he was warming up to all of us including his grandpa. He is very healthy and happy. It was a little easier to depart this time knowing how much he loved his FM and that it would only be a short while until we were back to get him for good.

Good News vs. Bad News - Which one first?

Let's do the bad: When the Central Authority was originally formed three people were appointed under the old President. Then the new guy came in, wanted his own people, and fired the old ones. Now the old ones are filing a suit, how do you sue the President??? This means that the CA will not be registering anymore cases or issuing the certification that we need to get back into PGN. Therefore, we wait until this all gets resolved.

Good News: We leave on Thursday to see the little guy. YEAH!!! Don't tell anyone but we might have an extra person on board when we return. ha ha
