We are ORANGE!!!!

Well ofcourse we had alittle delay last week and we didn't get the DNA authorization until yesterday so the DNA was taken this morning and is off to the lab in NC. Hopefully Pat will get it on Thursday and have it shipped back out by Friday. If everything goes our way for once we should know our Embassy date next week. I can't believe it is almost happening. I am going to wear all the orange in my closet today. I can't wait until we are wearing PINK - even Erich will be sporting that nice color....

And then there were three.....

Chase is now a Reis!!! Finally today at 2:00pm Carol called with the best news we have had in two months. MARIA HAD OUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE IN HER HANDS!!! We got out of PGN on June 19th thinking that we would be traveling for sure in July well after three delays we will finally be traveling in September. Chase is finally coming home.... We can't believe it; but I can honestly say we are ready. His room is done, his closet is full, and there are lots of people for him to meet. Hopefully, we are down hill from here. Below is the timeline we should be looking at.

August 20th - Birth Certificate received
August 21st - Passport and DNA authorization
August 22nd - DNA test taken and overnighted to North Carolina (we are whats known as orange at this point in the adoption world.)
September 2nd ish - We should receive an email from the US Embassy with our date (then we are PINK!!! - what a nice color.)

Delay after Delay!!!

I was really hoping that my next post since getting out of PGN would be good news. However, wishful thinking got me again. We still have NOT received our birth certificate. We waited four weeks for them to tell us that we were at the wrong RENAP office. As of last Tuesday we registered with a new office and they are saying around 15 more days. This frustration has really become overwhelming for us. Most babies that were out of PGN the same time as us are already home. It is very disappointing. The worst part is that we can do NOTHING!!! Please continue to pray that Chase will come home soon.

PGN is sending Chase home forever!!!!

Today at 11:15am Carol called with the news; we got PGN approval. What a relief!!! We have known for over a week that our case was at the window but they would not tell us if it was another KO or final approval. But today was I guess that day....Thanks so much for all your prayers - keep them coming until he is on US soil and home for good.

Birth Certificate - 1-14 days
Passport - 1 day
2nd DNA approval - 1 day
2nd DNA results - 3-5 days
Embassy Date - we will receive an email which will give us around a 5 to 10 day notice of our embassy appt date.

This process is usually around 30 days!

Calling all prayer warriors

Chase's birthmother interview is scheduled for Thursday, June 5th @ 10am. We need your prayers...... We have been told that she will be put through a very tough 90 minutes consisting of holding Chase, bribery, empty promises and verbal abuse. PGN is trying to change the minds of these birthmothers. We are praying that she holds strong to her decision and signs the release form. Please keep us, Chase, and his birthmother in your prayers Thursday. Thanks for your support!

Still nothing to report.....

We are still waiting.... The most current news is that Guatemala is performing interviews with the birth mothers. Apparently, there had been bribery taking place under the old leadership. So now the new President wants to hold all of us up while he does a thorough investigation trying to catch these crooked attornies. We are the ones being punished; they have their babies home and we are stuck with the mess. We are just hoping now that the birth mother doesn't see Chase and decide to keep him. Please continue to pray for us, we need it. He turns ONE on the 30th of May!!! We thought for sure he would be home to celebrate with us.
